National Club Chess Championship 2026

Maldives Chess Club took part in the National Club Chess Championship 2026, representing the club in one of the key club-level chess events of the year.

The club was proudly represented by five talented players: Zaik Mohamed Mausoom, Iffa Ibrahim Mahfooz, Ibrahim Baasil Mohamed, Roohul Rakh Bin Ali, and team captain Mohamed Looth Ismail. The squad was guided throughout the championship by team manager Kaif Mausoom.

The championship brought together players from different chess clubs, giving our team the chance to compete against strong players and gain more experience in a competitive setting. Each round was a chance for the players to test their preparation, learn from their games, and represent the club on the national stage. Every player brought real focus and determination to the board, and their sportsmanship and fighting spirit throughout the event did the club proud.

For Maldives Chess Club, taking part in events like this is about more than just the final results. It is an opportunity for our players to gain tournament experience, build confidence, and continue developing as competitive chess players.

We are proud of everyone who represented the club at the National Club Chess Championship 2026 and look forward to seeing the team continue to grow and compete in future tournaments.
